Margit S. Bluestein
Co-Treasurer
Margit S. Bluestein joined the board of CIVITAS in 2011 and serves as the co-treasurer.
Since 2004, Margit has owned and operated a small business, M. Swenson Monogram, which specializes in personalized gifts. Prior to opening M. Swenson Monogram, she spent five years at Goldman Sachs & Co as an Associate in the Equities division.
Margit graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She is currently working towards her MBA at Fordham University. In addition to her work with CIVITAS, she is involved with her daughters’ schools, a committee member for Playground Partners, an organization focused on maintaining the quality and cleanliness of Central Park’s 21 playgrounds as well as a supporter of the African Dream Academy.
She is focused on improving the quality of life for residents in East Harlem and the Upper East Side through increased recycling and improving air pollution.
Margit lives in Carnegie Hill with her husband Jeff, who is also a CIVITAS board member, and their two children.
