TreesCount! 2015

CIVITAS Training & Mapping Events

Join CIVITAS as we document street trees in our neighborhood. TreesCount! 2015 is the third New York City tree census with previous censuses occurring in 1995 and 2005. CIVITAS is documenting approximately 50 blocks from 102nd Street south to 88th Street and 5th Avenue east to 2nd Avenue.

Below is information about our upcoming events, which are free and open to the public:

July 15th at 3pm, southeast corner of 95th Street and Madison Avenue
July 21st at 2pm, northwest corner of 95th Street and Lexington Avenue
July 30th at 3pm, northeast corner of 91st Street and Madison Avenue
August 5th at 2pm, northeast corner of 91st Street and Lexington Avenue
August 18th at 1pm, northeast corner of 97th Street and Lexington Avenue

Bring a friend (everyone works in pairs of 2 during the census) as we work together with the Department of Parks, community groups and 4,000-6,000 volunteers to better understand and improve our streetscapes throughout the five boroughs. The tree census is a family friendly volunteer activity with many opportunities for learning!
